PREPARE to party this weekend as the three-day bonanza Ampthill Festival is back and ready to entertain you.

Thousands of people are expected to turn out of one of the biggest events in Mid Beds, which kicks off tomorrow with music festival AmpRocks.

Brit pop band The Feeling, who shot to fame in 2005 after the limited release of their first single Fill My Little World, will be headlining the event, and are sure to kick off the weekend and give you a party feeling.

The event, which is being hosted by BBC Introducing in Beds, Herts and Bucks, will also include with support from O’casan, who have just announced a UK tour that will finish at AmpRocks.

Fresh from supporting McFly, As We Climb is also on the bill, along with Redborne Upper School’s Battle of the Bands winners Singing 4 Chips.

The music theme is set to go on to the next day as the sound of live classical music will once again float on wind through the town with Ampthill Park Proms.

This year the show will be headlined by Ampthill Concert Orchestra and will include popular classic pieces, performances by Ampthill Town Band and a grand finale including a spectacular firework display. Gates open at 6pm for picnics.

Young people from Redborne Upper School’s jazz ensemble, returning to the programme by popular demand, will also be performing some jazz favourites.

And the weekend will be finished off in style with the highlight of the festival - the gala day.

The free event will kick off at 1pm with a walking parade from The Firs Lower School and then an afternoon of fun for all the family, with arena events, live music, stalls, games, food and lots more.

Tickets for AmpRocks are priced at £15 and available from Waitrose and dr barbers.
