Airport improvements could cause delays

Passengers advised to leave more time for journeys

Major improvements to Luton Airport could cause delays for motorists, bosses at the airport have warned.

The works to the central terminal area of the airport will begin later this month and take until Easter next year to complete. Earmarked for improvement are the bus set-down area, the main terminal roundabout, the drop-off area and the short-term car park.

A spokesman for the airport advised passengers to allow extra time for their journeys, adding: "During this time the airport will endeavour to minimise any disruption to traffic, although it is possible that some localised congestion will be experienced during certain phases of the project."
