A new sound, and new shows Gold Skies Ahead are back!

Recording in the US with their pop punk hero is just one of the ways that Bedford’s Gold Skies Ahead are, um..getting ahead.

And loyal fans of the band can enjoy the fruits of their labour at their upcoming Esquires show on February 16.

At the beginning of January Gold Skies Ahead travelled to Seattle to record a new album.

But it’s an album with a difference. Not only is it recorded under the watchful eye of pop punk hero Mike Herrera of MXPX, it takes a decidedly different musical direction from the ban’s metal roots.

And Mike is most certainly the guy to guide them in this new punky direction. His band have sold over 2.5million records worldwide.

Mike took a shine to Gold Skies Ahead after meeting them at one of his shows in the UK. Email exchanges followed and the band were invited to get in on the action, a move which could see them catapulted into a most alternative mainstream as recording artists.

So if you fancy hearing what all the fuss is about, head on down to Esquires on Saturday night.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are purse-pleasingly free.

Support comes from Fates Upon Us and local heroes The Noise Theory.
