Dater Louise writes a book about her online man hunt
A disgruntled dater has written a book about her madcap series of brief encounters during her online quest for Mr Right, who she eventually found in Dunstable.
Louise Gibney, 25, met 32 men in two years after joining popular dating websites. But every one of them was a definite Mr Wrong, she said.
And the man of her dreams, Ciaran Robinson, was actually hiding at his gallery Jumble Fresh Creative Studios in High Street South.
The couple met through a dating site and were a perfect match from their first date in Woburn Sands.
Louise said: "We've been together 18 months now, I've never felt this good in a relationship."
But her disastrous dates beforehand provided perfect material for her new book Girl Meets Boys.
"Looking back, they were crazy times," Louise admits. "Perhaps I'm too picky, but not one of them came anywhere near what I was searching for."
One date with a sexy waiter ended in disaster when he turned out to be an illegal immigrant.
A tall, dark handsome stranger became a creepy stalker and another was eventually revealed as a city scam artist.
Louise listened politely to a pig farmer who, much older than his photograph, talked solely about mating sows throughout dinner.
But the biggest heave ho was saved for Skint Steve, who phoned before the date asking to borrow 20 so he would have the cash to buy the the drinks.
"They were dreadful," said Louise. "The last guy I saw before Ciaran was the illegal immigrant.
"But Ciaran was my kind of bloke and we hit it off from the start. He's such an interesting person, he's got loads of stories."
Louise, who lives in Stony Stratford near Milton Keynes and works as a recycling officer, spent more than a year writing the book and is now seeking a publisher.
She said: "Ciaran is proud of me for putting together such a great, amusing book – he's read a couple of chapters but I want him to read it in full when it's fully published, bound and printed."
