The Bedford institution that is Castle Comedy is three years old in April and you can join their birthday show when balloons, party poppers and cake will complement the laughs.

A special line-up of comics is in store on Thursday, April 9 at the Ent Shed and headlining the show is Ava Vidal, a fiercely intelligent and hilarious performer with an intriguing past. S

she was a teenage mum, earned a living as a prison officer before turning to stand-up, a move inspired by watching Chris Rock.

She has become a regular presence on television since she turned heads as the BBC New Comedy Awards’ only female finalist in the very first year of her career.

She has appeared on Mock the Week, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Comedy Central’s The World Stands Up, Edinburgh and Beyond, C4 reality show Kings of Comedy and Let’s Dance for Comic Relief’.

As a commentator and journalist she regularly contributes to The Wright Stuff, Daybreak, BBC World Have Your Say, The Independent and The Guardian.

Opening the show is Jason Patterson, an award winning comedian who has numerous TV credits to his name. He talks about everything from his black heritage, his crazy grandma and how his pets have witnessed him doing the funniest things!
