The accolade comes hot on the heels of chef Laxman Shrestha winning the BCA Chef of the Year Award (Eastern Region) award last year.

Proprietor Suruk Miah hosted a lavish presentation ceremony at restuarant, where founder of the Good Curry Guide and Curry Club, Pat Chapman, presented Suruk and his staff with their award.

Suruk said: “We are immensely proud to receive this award for excellence. We are passionate about creating the finest food and this award is testament to the skills and dedication of all of our staff.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers. We are honoured and will continue in our quest to be the very best”.

Edited by Curry Club founder Pat Chapman, the Cobra Good Curry Guide is regarded by media and the restaurants as the definitive work of its kind.

It contains information on 1,000 restaurants around the UK.
