Women in Bedfordshire are hot on the heels of Victoria Beckham when it comes to setting the business agenda.
Organisers of the Beds SME Expo, at Center Parcs Woburn Forest, have reported an increase in the number of women attending and exhibiting at the expo compared with one held in Bedford in the spring.
Beds SME Expo communications director Karen McGeeney said: “Women are taking hold of business in Bedfordshire and giving it a shake up and a makeover.
“Like Victoria Beckham, we’ve got style and business nous.”
Victoria Beckham has been named a top UK entrepreneur.
For the first time the Beds SME Expo is also hosting a fashion show, in association with Bedfordshire entrepreneur and soyou boutique owner Rosa Cristini.
Karen added: “Anyone who thinks business is dull and boring will be blown away by the style and attitude of Bedfordshire’s business women.”
Among the exhibitors are Bedford’s 5th Avenue Hair and Beauty Spa, run by entrepreneur Kerry Cash, networking group Bedfordshire BusinessWomen, and Look C social media management and training, run by Biggleswade businesswoman, Georgia O’Keeffe.
The Beds SME Expo gives companies the chance to increase market awareness, network with like-minded business owners and have a look around Bedfordshire’s newest tourist attraction.
On the same day, the East of England Business Champions finals will be held at the tourist venue, with four of the finalists in Business Person of the Year being women.
The same number of finalists in the networking groups shortlist are also for women, including Bedfordshire BusinessWomen.
