An interpretation board detailing the important archeological finds from an Anglo Saxon burial ground has been unveiled by Kempston Local History Society.

The finds were in the area of the Saxon Centre and were discovered in the nineteenth century.

The Saxon Centre board, the third installed in the town, was unveiled by Deputy Mayor of Kempston Mayor, Councillor Carl Meader. The board has been produced by the society with assistance from borough councillors, The Harpur Trust, Higgins Museum and Kempston Town Council and has been designed by a founding member, Lloyd Lugsden. The other boards cover the history of the Barracks and the Bedfordshire Regiment and a history of Kempston High Street.
