This time of year is one of the busiest periods for relationships charity Relate as families deal with the fall out after Christmas.

The good cause says friction is caused as people try to meet unrealistic demands of the festive season.

For starters people may not be accustomed to spending so many consecutive days with their partner and having the children or relatives around much more than usual may add to the pressure.

Now for the first time , Relate Bedfordshire and Luton is offering free telephone counselling post-Christmas, up to the end of January.

One of Relate’s relationship counsellors is on hand to spend up to 30 minutes with callers on the phone.

An appointment can be arranged by calling 01234 356350 or to see someone face-to-face at the Relate centre in St Paul’s Square, Bedford, call the same number.

A fee is payable for face-to-face and Skype counselling to enable the charity to continue providing the services.
