Helen takes on top role for Bedfordshire

The Lord Lieutenant for Bedfordshire has been appointed President of East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) .

Helen Nellis will be taking the reins from Lord Lieutenant for Norfolk, Mr Richard Jewson, after his five-year term came to an end.

Mrs Nellis said: “It is a pleasure and an honour to take on this responsibility.

“Thanks to Richard Jewson for your wisdom and guidance. I will try to emulate your contribution.”

Her first official act as President of the association was the presentation of a plaque to Mr Jewson.

Several employees received a certificate from the Lord Lieutenant for their long service, demonstrating the continuity of knowledge and experience of Reserve Forces and Cadet matters to the Association.

At the event in Coldhams Lane Army Reserve Centre, on Tuesday, the Reserve Forces and Cadets was the key theme.

Presentations by Major General Simon Brooks-Ward, Deputy Commander Field Army and the Royal Navy Presentation Team were made at the event.
