Donning pink and disco dancing put partygoers in the mood to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

More than 150 people dressed up for the The Big Pink Party, hosted by Country Properties of Flitwick, which netted £7640.36 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Estate agent director Duane Savage organised the bash at The White Hart, Flitton, with his wife Lorraine.

He said: “It was a great event, we took over the whole pub for the night.

“A lot of the money was raised through our raffle and auction. People were very generous with their bids, with a box at Tottenham Hotspur going for £750.”

Duane added the evening was made possible by pub landlord Phil Hale, and Paul Meads from UK Events and Tents, who provided a large marquee for free.

Macmillan Cancer Support regional fundrasing manager Chloe Coombs said the charity is grateful to all who took part as “this money really does help so many people and their families affected by cancer”.
