Emergency medical charity Magpas has joined the Association of Air Ambulances (AAA), which represents the majority of these operations in the UK.
The move follows the charity meeting the necessary membership criteria and agreeing to abide by the AAA’s Code of Conduct.
Full, Associate or Affiliate members can access a tailor made range of benefits, services, information and resources, together with statistics and clear guidance on improved charitable, operational and clinical best practice, while the Association itself represents its members to legislators and the general public.
Daryl Brown, Magpas Chief Executive Officer said: “With the acquisition of our own dedicated Air Ambulance in 2011, the charity increasingly recognises the importance of close cooperation between our regional Air Ambulances and Ambulance services that we support. The Association of Air Ambulances is there to represent those involved not only operationally for example treating patients, but also looks at the bigger picture.
“The Association endeavors to build on existing relationships between all parties involved to develop a continually improving emergency response network, as well as working with its members to ensure good practice at all times. Magpas is proud to be a part of this.”

We look forward to working with Magpas’s Trustees, Management, Staff and Volunteers for the betterment of their patients.”
Magpas will now join the majority of air ambulance charities and ambulance services who set the policy and contribute to the guidance documents through the Association’s elected Board and three Subcommittees.
