Air medics have flown to the aid of a pensioner who collapsed in the street.

Doctor Nick Scott and Paramedic Mark Glover landed near Flitwick in the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance on Wednesday morning after a man in his seventies collapsed as he was walking down a local road and suffered injuries to his head.

The Magpas team anaesthetised the patient at the scene before accompanying him in a land ambulance to Luton Hospital. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a serious but stable condition.

An EEAST Ambulance Crew and Rapid Response Paramedic were also present.
