A golf day organised by a Bedford car dealership has raised almost £1,000 for St John’s Hospice.

The fundraiser was open to all customers, staff and other golfers at Mercedes-Benz in Ampthill Road, and organised by the firm’s business development manager Philip Morton, pictured centre, with the support of head of business Andy Verrall.

The golf day included refreshments, a round of golf, two-course dinner and a raffle of grand prizes, with a ticket price of £40, and there are plans to hold another event next year.

Around 40 people attended or supported the golf day with local businesses donating raffle prizes. Thanks were paid to Bedford Arts and Craft Centre, The Little Hair Boutique, St Helens Restaurant and Bedfordshire Golf Club.
