The Bedfordshire Golf Club community turned out to say farewell to past captain Ian Cole.

The club’s captains since 1983 attended the funeral and wore their blazers and something bright and colourful as requested by Ian’s widow Rita. More than 200 people turned out to pay their respects at Bromham Baptist Church. Ian was captain of the club in 1999 and was actively involved in the move of the organisation to better facilities from Biddenham to Stagsden back in 2000.

Vic McDonald from the club said: “He was given a wonderful send off. The clubhouse at Stagsden afterwards was bulging with people, as we all enjoyed meeting those of Ian’s friends and family that were not already known to us.”
