ETIENNE Stott’s Olympic gold has been recognised in striking style, after a postbox was re-painted in his honour.

The box in St Paul’s Square now a proud shade of gold after the former Biddenham Upper School student claimed first place in the canoe slalom C-2 at the 2012 Games last week.

And you can join the celebrations, as anyone who has their photograph taken with the box can send the picture to the BedfordBID group for the chance to win £25-worth of vouchers to spend in town.

The BedfordBID represents 575 businesses across the town centre.

BID chairman Christina Rowe said: “This will a fun attraction for families all over the summer.

“We hope those who buy stamps at St Loyes or St Mary’s town post offices will post their letters in St Paul’s and enjoy a walk around Bedford in the process.”
