People are being called on to pledge cash online to help a charity that supports the families and friends of road victims at Christmas time.
The Road Victims Trust - based in Kempston - offers free emotional and practical support to all those in Beds, Cambs and Herts affected by road death.
Money donated to the cause online on Decmeber 4, 5 and 6 will be match funded by women’s magazine CANDIS under its Big Give Christmas Challenge.
Road Victims Trust chief executive Mark Turner said: “In order to support the charity this Christmas I am asking for the help of everyone. By simply following the link http://secure.thebiggive.org.uk/project/RVT2012 and making a donation the money can be match-funded by our chosen charity champion, CANDIS.
“Such campaigns have proved very successful in the past and we are hoping that people will show their support by giving generously.
“Every penny raised goes towards providing support for persons at their lowest possible ebb”
Donations, which are matched on a first come first served basis and usually within the first hour of on each day the fundraising campaign, need to be made from 10am on December 4, 5 and 6.
The minimum online donation is £5 and the maximum matched donation is £5,000. Donations over this amount will have the first £5,000 doubled, if funds are available.
