Youngsters are being invited to try out playing the French horn during taster sessions this Sunday.
Ampthill repair business Woodhead Horns is bringing young people together to try out the instrument and those that can already play are being invited to join the fun.
Luke Woodhead said: “The focus is getting young kids in that have never played and getting all the kids and some adults who are already doing it in the county to do some playing for the fun of it.”
There will be duets, quartets, octets and dectets being coached during the day, which will culminate with performances from local professional horn players and from the coached students themselves.
Free taster sessions for newcomers to the instrument will be held at Redborne School in Ampthill from 10am to 11.30am and 2pm to 3pm.
The event, running with support of the school’s music department and local horn tutors, will take place from 10am to 4pm and welcomes players of all standards.
Coached sessions, which must be booked, cost £5 for children and £10 for adults, and the taster sessions - suitable for children aged eight and above - are free.
