Firms sponsor school play characters

Hastingsbury Business and Enterprise College wins support for a production of Oliver.

Characters in Hastingsbury Business and Enterprise College's forthcoming

production of Oliver are being sponsored.

Oliver should have his request – 'Please sir, can I have some more?' – granted, for he is backed by Asda.

Meanwhile, the Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association hopes it can redeem the Artful Dodger by supporting him.

The school has not revealed who is sponsoring Fagan though.

Headteacher Martin Fletcher said: "Forming meaningful and productive

partnerships with local businesses and other community organisations is of vital importance to all of us at Hastingsbury."

The college has also loaned students' artwork to companies including HSBC, Emedia Telecom, DHL and Argus to raise funds, while every two months the Friends Of Hastingsbury hold breakfast meetings where representatives from business give talks.
