Wrest Park in Silsoe is turning its attention towards the festive season – including giving visitors a chance to meet Father Christmas.

An Audience with Father Christmas runs each weekend throughout December. Young visitors can join in with festive fun and crafts before meeting the main man himself who will be recounting some magical tales of Christmas past, as well as handing out some festive treats.

Green-fingered folk can get into the festive spirit with Christmas wreath making workshops on December 8 and 9. After gaining inspiration from a tour of the house, there will be a range of materials sourced from the gardens from which to create a seasonal masterpiece

Plus, due to popular demand, two carol concerts will take place on Wednesday 9 December, with carols sung by Christ’s College Cambridge choir, in the sumptuous surroundings of Wrest Park’s Library. There will also be a glass of wine or soft drink to prepare the vocal chords for a memorable night of singing.

Not to be forgotten are the stunning gardens of Wrest Park on those crisp, sunny, wintry weekends – complete with Britain’s oldest living Christmas tree, dating back to 1856.
