The British Red Cross will transform the Great Hall in Bedford School into a festive wonderland for its annual Christmas fair.

The Bedfordshire Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 12, will feature a wide range of stalls selling gifts, festive food, clothing, jewellery and many more items.

The event will also feature a demonstration from award-winning chocolatier Aneesh Popat, lots of festive music cheer from choirs, followed by a book signing from actress of Swallows and Amazons fame Sophie Neville.

Red Cross fundraiser Natasha Robertson said: “Our Christmas Fair is a lovely festive event, where you can socialise, contribute to a great cause and get your shopping all wrapped up in one visit.”

Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to support the British Red Cross this Christmas might like to bid on a unique ‘money can’t buy’ gifts available via the online Christmas auction at www.britishredcross.auction-bid.org. More than 30 lots are available, spanning foreign trips, teas at the Old Bailey and House of Lords, one-off experiences, luxury goods, sports memorabilia and more.

Proceeds will go towards the refugee support work of the British Red Cross in the area. The funds collected will aid in producing the destitution packs which include basic needs such as a toothbrush, dried food, sanitary and hygiene packs.

The fair is open from 10.30am until 4pm, at the Great Hall, Bedford School, De Parys Avenue. Admission is £3.50.
