Extension goes bananas

Children’s book character Olli The Monkey was at Livingstone Lower School this month to open the school’s new extension.

Olli, who loves to use sign language and features in the award-winning Sign With Olli books, declared the new building officially cut the ribbon.

Headteacher Linda Crombie said: “Our new extension, which contains 10 additional classrooms, has been named the Elizabeth building. We thought it was fitting as it’s the year of the Diamond Jubilee. We left a trail of bananas for Olli as a special treat, leading from our beautiful Victoria building so that he could find our new classrooms!”
