Enjoy a taste of Polish food and culture at the Bedford Polish Festival.
The all-age event, from noon to 4pm on Sunday, May 15 in the Harpur Suite and Harpur Square, has been organised by the Polish Language and Culture Association, in co-operation with the NHS diverse culture team and Bedford Borough Strategic Partnership.
Children can enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including face painting, arts and crafts and a penalty shootouts competition.
Attractions for adults include food tasting courtesy of the Bes-Pol Delicatessen, a Polish bakery stall and more than 20 stalls selling artisan items including silverware, jewellery and natural products.
Live music will include everything from classical to rock and reggae.
Polish Folklore group Kujawy will perform their dance routine, and an art exhibition/competition entitled What Do You Know About Poland? will feature work by schoolchildren all over Bedford.
Artwork will be judged in the beginning of May by an independent jury and the winners will be announced at the opening ceremony.
Local services available for advice will include the diverse cultures mental health team, Healthwatch, social services, police, fire service, environmental health, re-use and recycling, public health, community safety and Neighbourhood Watch.
