A 15-year-old Wootton Upper School pupil has been made a Lord Lieutenant Cadet for his volunteering work with St John Ambulance.
Josh Rust, from Cranfield, was honoured with the first aid ambassador role by the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher.
He is currently studying for his GCSEs, and will attend events with Sir Henry, alongside cadets from other youth organisations including air cadets, sea cadets and army cadets.
Josh, who became an SJA Cadet three years ago, wants to be a paramedic.
He said: “I am extremely proud to volunteer with St John Ambulance and I’m honoured to represent the charity as a Lord Lieutenant Cadet.
“I would like to give something back to St John Ambulance for all I have learnt and the amazing opportunities it has offered me.”
Sir Henry said: “I look forward to working with Josh during the year ahead.
“I hope he will be able to attend Royal visits and other occasions when he can demonstrates his commitment to St John Ambulance and build his confidence in communicating with a whole range of different people.”
