Schools’ exam results improvements

SAT results at schools across Bedford Borough have shown an “impressive improvement” according to the latest data.

The latest available data on this year’s Statutory Attainment Test (SAT) results has seen improvement across all five areas - English Level 4 and Level 5 and above, Maths Level 4 and Level 5 and above, and English and Maths combined Level 4 and above.

SAT tests are taken in May by Year 6 students each May. Full details on all schools will be made available later this year.

Four schools saw percentage increases between 10 and 28 per cent.

Councillor David Sawyer, portfolio holder for education at Borough Hall, said: “I am delighted that our schools have achieved such impressive improvements in their SAT results.

“I would like to congratulate all pupils, their families and their schools on securing these excellent results.”

Indicative data shows:

English Level 4 has improved from 78 per cent to 85.8 per cent.

English Level 5 has improved from 22.3 per cent to 35.1 per cent.

Maths Level 4 has improved from 76.6 per cent to 82.3 per cent.

Maths Level 5 has improved from 31.3 per cent to 36.7 per cent.

English and maths combined has improved from 68.6 per cent to 77.1 per cent.
