School hosts party fit for The Queen
The whole school gathered together for a lunchtime picnic before parading round the grounds waving flags and wearing their hand-made crowns and t-shirts.
Headteacher Caroline Skingsley said: “What a wonderful occasion. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the monarch. “The celebration for the Queen’s 90th Birthday ended in such high spirts which created a fantastic atmosphere”.

“During the build up to the day we ran a whole school t-shirt competition for this event, and the winning design was silk screen printed for all the children so that they could remember the occasion.” The school gardening club planted a Golden Alder tree in their garden, with a plaque to mark the event at its base.
