Children at Beauchamp Middle School have been working hard to make sure people less fortunate than them have a Christmas dinner.

The pupils collected food donations to put in decorated boxes for the Bedford Food Bank.

The project was carried out in conjunction with All Nations Church, in Brickhill, with each class being given a box to decorate and a shopping list of items to collect.

School spokeswoman Kelly Gray said: “The idea initially came from Dilan Sheemar and Amy Georgiou who wanted to help in the local community.

“The school council then spent time ensuring the boxes were being filled and decorated and were able to present a total of nineteen to Richard Brown and Brian Leeson from the church.”

She added: “They even put a Christmas card in each for those who will receive them.”

The presentation was made during the school assembly on Friday, December 11.
