A trio of boys from Bedford Prep School have cooked up a storm on a TV show.
The year 8 pupils competed on the popular ITV children’s show The Munch Box which was aired on Saturday, September 27.
Ryan Apps, ably assisted by Michael Philips and Joshua Lyon, competed against the girls’ team, going head to head in a series of culinary challenges.
Both Ryan and Joshua are members of the school’s hugely popular cookery club - The Hungry Boys’ Club - which started a year ago.
Boys in the club have turned their hand to making a whole range of foods, including pasta dishes, stir fries, soups, quiches and festive treats.
Using their culinary skills the boys cooked a tasty Mediterranean paella and a classic venison dish to win the first two rounds by some margin.
However, in the final challenge of the show, given by guest chef Galton Blackison, the girls pulled back the boys’ lead to finish the programme all tied.
The boys were invited to appear on the show following successful auditions in the summer.
