Under-19s looking to get on the right track to a job can get  professional guidance, with the Careers Coach.

The double-headed service is being run by Bedford College, including Shuttleworth College, and is the first of the kind in the UK.

It is aimed at young NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and is both on the road and online.

The Careers Coach roadshow has seen college staff and student ambassadors give advice on where to start on the path to a profession.

And there is also an online service, coaching young people through the options of education and training, and on to employment

Bedford College spokesman Sarah Baxter said: “We offer thousands of courses, learning opportunities, apprenticeships and professional training opportunities here in every field of work from rocket science to agriculture, engineering to advanced art and design, hair and beauty to catering.”

The Careers Coach can be found at www.bedford.ac.uk/careers. So far the roadshow has visited Biggleswade, Sandy and St Neots this year, with more to follow.
