Josh is youngest ever financial planner
A former Bedford Modern School student has become the UK’s youngest ever qualified financial planner.
Josh Butten, 20, left school in 2010 after studying for three A-Levels and the Certificate in Financial Planning. And rather than the typical university route Josh went straight into his chosen career after school.
He has now successfully achieved both the Diploma In Regulated Financial Planning as well as the Diploma in Financial Planning making him the youngest person to hold these qualifications as confirmed by the Chartered Insurance Institute.
This makes Josh, a keen drummer and rugby player, more qualified than the many financial advisers who were forced to stop advising on January 1 when industry changes increased the minimum qualification standard.
Faye Goddard, CEO of the Personal Finance Society, said: “It is always encouraging to see members doing well in their examinations and Josh’s achievements stand him in good stead as he builds up his practical experience of dealing with clients, as necessary before achieving Chartered status.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Josh on his achievement and wish him the best of luck as he continues his career in the profession.”
And the achievements don’t stop there, Josh is now continuing his career development while studying to become the youngest ever chartered financial planner.
