Two best friends who are pupils at Holywell Middle School, Cranfield hosted a cake bake to raise money for charity.
Veronica Simms’ daughter, 11-year-old Emma Simms, and her best friend Kala Anderson, baked a number of cakes to sell to raise money for Bedford Hospital neo-natal unit.
Mrs Sims said: “Emma’s baby sister was born five weeks early. She had breathing difficulties and spent nine days in the neo natal ward. It was a very stressful time. The nurses and everyone there was great so Emma decided to raise some money for them.”
Emma and and best pal Kala who raised a grand total of £61 added with determination: “We are going to keep going to raise more money for the neo natal unit.”
