It all adds up to success for Lincroft’s mathematicians
A team of Year 6 students have found the formula for success at Lincroft Middle School, after finishing as runners-up in the National Young Mathematicians Awards.
Joel Calstar-Fisher, Sam Hands, Sophie Hadden and Gabby Morley fought off competition from 650 teams from across the country to reach the grand finale at the University of Cambridge this month. They were assessed on their ability to get to the root of the problem, to be systematic in their approach, to work as a team and to use good recording systems.
Teacher Katy Russell said: “They were an absolute credit to the school throughout the tournament.”
