Youngsters at a Bedford school were treated to tales of the Amazon from a special visitor.
Nixiwaka Yawanawá, a 27-year-old Yawanawá Indian from Brazil, visited Queens Park Academy to speak with Year 3 children who were studying the topic of Rainforests.
Nixiwaka is undertaking a tour of schools and universities in the UK to raise awareness of the plight of Amazon Indians in Brazil, including the Awá tribe, on behalf of tribal rights organisation Survival International.
Nixiwaka came to London to learn English and to speak out for the rights of indigenous people of the Amazon.
He is currently working for Survival International.
