Earthquake appeal boosted by college lunch

The Celebrating Local Produce meal featured delicious dishes by students using foods sponsored by AB Fruits, M&J Seafood, Woburn County Foods, Wodehill artisan cheese and Callebaut chocolate.

The event also helped raise money for the Nepal earthquake appeal, of particular importance to hospitality staff member Andrea Ruff, as her sister Lindsay Baigent is a nurse working there.

Andrea said: “I am very proud of my sister’s work and our assistant director Mark Lewis kindly agreed that we could use the event on May 21 to help raise funds for the Nepal appeal.” Past and present students volunteered to come in and help make the evening a success.

Charity prizes included afternoon tea for two at Bedford Swan Hotel, a Callebaut chocolate masterclass at Bedford College, £20 Love Bedford shopping vouchers and more.
