Dress of 4,000 ring pulls wins award for Michaella

Finalist in Miss Bedfordshire, Michaella Beckwith, has raised £1,000 for a children’s charity after creating a dress made from ring pulls.

The 21-year-old, from Silsoe, took part in the finals held in Luton on Sunday, May 15 and won an eco award for the dress from sponsors Go Houghton based in Houghton Regis.

Michaella, pictured in the dress, is studying for a business HND and works for Hertfordshire County Council. The restaurant donated £1,000 to Miss World charity, Beauty With A Purpose which raises funds to help disabled and disadvantaged children in England, in exchange for the dress made of 4,000 ring pulls.
