It was a diamond day for one couple who were celebrating 60 years together in Bedford.
John and Maureen Adams of Rays Close, Bedford, marked their diamond wedding anniversary on Friday.
They enjoyed an anniversary family dinner at Vesuvio in Sharnbrook as part of the celebrations.
Maureen, nee Bennett, was born and bred in Bedford while John was born in Olney but has lived in the town most of his life.
The couple met at one of the regular dances at Cardington Camp and were married at The Holy Child and St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Midland Road, Bedford, on January 31, 1954.
John worked as a health and safety advisor whilst Maureen was employed at Halwins ladies underwear factory as a cutter, and briefly at Woolworths.
