Two men from Bedford have been charged with murder and robbery after a teenager died from injuries during an “incident with a car”, police have said.

Mohammed Haroon Sanghar, 18, of Cromwell Road, Peterborough, was seriously injured at about 2.30pm in Russell Street in the city on Thursday.

He died the following day in hospital.

James Lawrence Pettit, 21, of Restormel Close, Bedford, and Dino Fumo, 23, of St Michael’s Road, Bedford, are due to appear at court in Peterborough later today (Monday, April 14).

Det Insp Jon McAdam, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “The incident which resulted in Haroon’s death happened in broad daylight in a busy area of Peterborough so I am confident there are people who saw it, but haven’t contacted police so far.

“Anyone who was in the Cromwell Road, Gladstone Street or Lincoln Road area may have seen a vehicle being driven erratically and I would urge them to come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact the force’s Major Crime Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
