Three robbers attack man behind house in Clapham Road, Bedford

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Clapham Road, Bedford, on Monday, February 16, at around 3.45pm.

A 44-year-old man was approached by three men at the rear of a house. One of

the men asked him for a light while a second man tried to grab his bag. There was a struggle and the man was assaulted by two of the offenders before they stole his shoulder bag.

The offenders made off around the side of the house into Clapham Road.

Officers would like to talk to the men in relation to the incident. One is described as black and stocky, the second is described as black, average build and wearing a peaked woollen hat and the third man is described as being mixed race and average build.

All men are thought to be in their early 20s and were wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Albert Freer said: “This is an unprovoked attack and we are keen for anyone who may have any information to assist us with this case to come forward.”
