A 17-year-old girl was grabbed as she walked home in Bedford on Friday evening, February 7 and around 7pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident which happened along The Croft, Goldington.

The girl was talking on her mobile phone when she saw the offender on the opposite side of the road staring at her.

As the victim walked away, the offender crossed over the road and grabbed the youngster by her coat and pulled her backwards.

The victim managed to struggle free and then ran away while the offender fled towards Roundmead.

The victim did not suffer any serious injury and believes that the offender – described as a white man, in his late 20s, around 5ft 3ins tall, wearing a grey hooded top with a black gilet over the top – may have been trying to steal her mobile phone.
