Stolen pram figures ‘low’

Race Meadows Way in Bedford saw some of the highest numbers of pram thefts in the county according to Freedom Of Information request figures.

Five buggies were stolen at the retail park between 2008 and 2012, a relatively low number according to police.

A spokesman said; “Really these figures are quite low considering the high value of some of these pushchairs.”

Across Bedfordshire 36 prams were stolen in 2012, and decrease on 2011 when 43 were taken.

Luton’s Arndale Centre recorded the most thefts with eight buggies being taken since 2008.
