Five men suffered serious injuries after a fight broke out in a town centre nightclub on Sunday.

In the early hours of Sunday morning glasses were thrown onto the dancefloor of the Club Krystal venue in The Broadway, Bedford where the Lukie Birthday Bash Vol.9 event was being held.

Several people suffered injuries as a result of the glass throwing, and then further disturbances took place outside the club and in Foster Hill Road.

Five men received hospital treatment for serious injuries including multiple lacerations and a suspected punctured lung. One man received a 10cm deep wound which required surgery.

Police would like to speak to anyone who attended the event who could be an independent witness to what went on.

Detective Sergeant Albert Freer said: “The injuries sustained by the victims are very serious but we need to hear from independent witnesses to establish exactly what happened both within the club and in the streets surrounding it.

“There would have been a lot of noise from all parties involved and I hope that witnesses are able to come forward to help us with our enquiries.

“I’d like to hear from anyone who was in Club Krystal, the Broadway or Foster Hill Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.”
