Man scuffles with two men attempting to force their way into his home

A man was assaulted when he opened the door to callers in Kempston on Saturday night.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 55-year-old man was assaulted by two men at around 9.55pm at his home in Butler Way.

When the doorbell rang, the victim opened the front door slightly but as he did so, the two offenders tried to force their way inside the property which caused the door to hit the victim in the face.

The victim then scuffled with the offenders as they tried to get inside the house before the duo fled towards Westminster Gardens.

The victim did not suffer any serious injury but was left shaken by the assault.

Detective Constable Richard Adams, who is investigating the incident, is keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the assault or may have further information about the offenders who are both described as being Asian men, in their late teens and wearing light coloured clothing.
