Polcie are appealing for witnesses after a 35-year-old man suffered a broken jaw in an attack outside a bedford convenience store.

The incident happened between 8pm and 9pm on Thursday, October 30 when the victim was io Midland Road in Bedford. As he walked past Lamberts Food Store he was approached by three people – all wearing hooded tops - one of who punched him in the face knocking him unconscious.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to Bedford Hospital where he regained consciousness.

The victim lost four teeth during the assault and suffered a broken jaw which needed to have a metal plate installed.

Detective Constable David Pawelek, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the assault

DC Pawelek said: “This was a violent and seemingly unprovoked attack on a man who was on his way to visit his sister. The victim has been unable to tell us a lot about the attack but I hope that someone was in the area and may have valuable information about what happened. Even the smallest piece of information could help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information relating to this incident can contact DC Pawelek, in confidence, on 01234 275215, or text information to 07786 200011.
