Hunt on for burglar who fled after being caught red-handed

Police have issued a description of a burglar who was disturbed during a break-in in Flitwick, on Friday (November 6).

The break-in happened at approximately 7.40pm in Station Road.

The offender climbed through a window and was searching the property when he was disturbed by one of the people who live there. He then left without taking anything.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Matt Inwood said: “The man is described as white, in his late 20s, slim, approximately six foot, with short-brown scruffy hair.

“He was unshaven and wearing a navy blue bomber style jacket, a dark coloured t-shirt, dark jeans,and high top trainers.”

DC Inwood added: “I’m appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the break-in, or who has any information, to contact us immediately. “Fortunately in this incident the offender was disturbed before stealing anything. However, it’s important we find out who he is to prevent him from carrying out any further offences.”
