A teenage girl was indecently assaulted on Bedford’s Embankment at the weekend.

Police are looking for witnesses to the incident involving a 14- year-old girl on Sunday, April 27, and around 7pm to 8pm.

The girl was walking along the riverside, on the Park Inn side of the river.

She was approached by a man on a black mountain bike who spoke to her and although she tried to walk off, he then went on to indecently touch her and kiss her.

She ran away and over the green footbridge, flagging down a couple for help who were walking along on the Swan Hotel side of the Embankment.

He rode off on the bike towards the Swan hotel.

The man, who was also seen by the couple, is described as a Polish man, aged in his twenties, medium build and 5ft 6ins tall, with a shaved head and stubble on his face.

He was dressed in a light blue hooded jacket/top, dark tracksuit bottoms rolled up to his knees and white trainers.
