Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Bedford on Friday (6 May).

A man was walking along Midland Road at approximately 3pm when he was approached by two men who physically assaulted him and stole a large amount of cash from him, as well as breaking his mobile phone.

Both of the men are described as white and believed to be Romanian.

One is described as being aged in his early 40s, approximately 5’4” and large. The second man is described as being in his early 20s, slim, 5’2” and with brown hair.

Detective Constable Dan Matcham said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack in broad daylight and I’m appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who recognises the description of the two offenders, to get in touch.”
