A second 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences this morning (Monday) and remains in police custody for questioning.

All four men are from Bedford and were detained following the arrest of a 19-year-old woman from Bedford in relation to the incident and who has also been bailed.

The shots were fired between 10pm on Friday (July 8) and 5am on Saturday, at four separate properties in the town.

The first incident happened at approximately 10pm with shots being fired at a property in Faraday Square.

One woman was shot in the arm during the incident and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At around 1am on Saturday, shots were fired at a property in Lovell Road. This was followed shortly afterwards by shots being fired in Foxglove Way at approximately 1.20am.

Shots were then fired at a property in Romsey Way at approximately 5am.

Detective Inspector Katie Dounias said: “Throughout the weekend we have had a large number of officers committed to this investigation and as a result several arrests have been made.

“The investigation is on-going and we will pursue a number of lines of enquiry over the following day. We are continuing to urge the public to come forward with any information they may have about the shootings.”
