Police are appealing for information about a burglary in Sandy in which sentimental items, including military medals, were stolen.

Between 7.30pm and 8pm last Thursday ( December 10) the offenders forced entry to a home in Fieldfare.

Among the items stolen were war memorabilia including military medals and cap badges, and a ring set with five sapphires in a flower shape.

Detective Constable Oly Tomlinson, investigating, said: “The items taken in this break-in were no doubt of high sentimental value to the victims and we will do all in our power to find those responsible and return the items to their rightful owners.

“This incident took place in the evening when people are likely to have been around, so I would appeal for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who recognises the items described or has been offered them for sale.”
