Country show offers fun for all the family

Bedfordshire Young Farmers are promising a great day out for all the family at the Beds YFC Country Show and Rally on May 21.

For the club’s 400 members, the rally is a competitions day with livestock, horses, handicrafts, cookery, flowers and practical skills.

Competitions include show jumping and dressage, tractor driving, welding and blindfold painting, with cattle, sheep and pigs being shown in the livestock ring.

Other attractions in the main ring include an assault course, tug of war, kids’ sweet scramble, slide challenge , Olympic relay, parade of Oakley Hunt foxhounds, pallet chariot challenge and the parade of large decorated floats.

Displays include birds of prey, alpacas, beagles, thatching and the Hemlock morris dancers.

There will be a wide range of exhibitors in the craft area.

The event is held at Manor Farm, Pertenhall, from 10am.

Entry is adults £8, under-12s free. Free parking and programmes.
