Beds Police still has one of the lowest levels of complaints compared to other forces, despite an annual rise.

Assistant Chief Constable Nigel Trippett says although complaints have increased it is important to keep the latest Independent Police Complaints Commission’s figures in perspective.

There were 353 complaints in 2013/14 - one of the lowest levels recorded across the country - and work is continues to drive down this figure.

Mr Trippett said: “We regularly contact victims to seek feedback on the service they receive and look to identify areas for improvement to achieve our vision to be a well-respected, high-performing, efficiently run police service working to protect people, fight crime and keep Bedfordshire safe.”
